IN SHA' ALLAH, I WILL PRAY ALL THE COMPULSORY PRAYERS IN THE MASJID THIS RAMADAN, AND CONTINUE THIS FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR ! ! !
IF MY FEET CANNOT TAKE ME TO THE MASJID, HOW CAN IT TAKE ME TO JANNAH?

Hadith #4: Narrated Abu Huraira - The Prophet said, "No prayer is harder for the hypocrites than the Fajr and the 'Isha' prayers, and if they knew the reward for these prayers at their respective times, they would certainly present themselves (in the mosques) even if they had to crawl." [Sahih Bukhari, Book #11, Hadith #626]

The hypocrites dragged themselves to the masjid, even though many of them lived far away (farther than earshot of Masjid An-Nabawi), because they did not want to be suspected of hypocrisy, i.e., the understanding of the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) of the Prophet (Salla Allahu 'aleihi wa sallam) was that those not turning up in the masjid, especially on a regular basis, must be hypocrite.

The Ahnaf (followers of the Hanafi fiqh) do not consider salah in the masjid as fard on a technical level, yet they are of the same opinion that it is a major to sin to be frequently absent from the congregational salah without a valid reason.

CONCLUSIONS

If a person lives/ works/ happens to be at the time of salah within earshot of the adhaan, then he MUST join the congregation according to the majority of scholars. The Ahnaf say that while it not compulsory, to regularly be absent from the masjid is sign of hypocrisy and is a MAJOR sin. [Ma’riful Qur’aan]
