Sunnas before Fajr and Zuhr
Question:
I know there are some sunnahs which you have to pray, such as Fajr, Zuhr etc. If you get to the mosque, just in time for salaat, do you then have to make up that sunnat namaaz afterwards?
Answer:
The Sunna Muakkadas are very important and should be performed at all times. The Sunnas before the Fajr prayer and the four Sunnas before Zuhr are particularly stressed.
If a person joins Zuhr congregation and has not read the four Sunnas prior to it, then he should make up for them after the Fard. As for the Fajr Sunnas, these should be performed before the Fard, even if the congregation has started and the person knows he can read them alone and then still join the congregation.
